The geometric lines blur, merging the soft greens of the trees with the ochre browns of the walls. Everything points to the assimilation of Impressionist principles, including the atmospheric suspension reminiscent of certain works by Camille Pissarro or Eugene Boudin. One can almost sense the air vibrating and the heat brushing against the skin, as the photograph radiates an intense sensuality. By reinventing Impressionism, Réhahn imbues the landscape with pulsating poetry, creating a bridge between the warmth of Cézanne’s canvases and Vietnam’s dry season.

Yet, this exterior photograph bears no resemblance to any familiar landscape. It evokes the sensation of standing before Van Gogh’s wheat fields, where one is compelled to follow the undulating elements, the ripples stirred by the heat. A tableau of fire and wind captures the fleeting flame of a moment, balanced gracefully by the soft greens, reminiscent of Monet’s “Harmonies Vertes.” The softened brick rooftops, touched with hints of sunny yellow, evoke Cézanne’s “Montagne Sainte-Victoire,” and even more so, “Château-Noir.” While a Buddhist temple may be recognizable, the photograph’s title, Illusion, suggests that identifying the subject is of little consequence.

What we perceive is not necessarily what has been captured—a core principle of Impressionism that paved the way for abstraction.

CREATION
The swirls of movement were achieved in this photograph by shooting through the light bending distortion of heat shimmer as a farmer burned her field. The intensity of the heat created an warping of the geometric lines of the architecture, creating a truly surreal effect.

EXHIBITED
– Permanent Collection of the Cuba’s Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) in Havana, Cuba.

Why Choose Our Original Editions?

  • Exclusivity: Each Limited Edition photograph is produced in strictly limited quantities—no more than 15 photos per format (60x90 cm or 100x150 cm) worldwide. Some of our most iconic works are even rarer, available only in micro-editions of 3-5 prints.
  • Appreciating Value: The value of each Limited Edition photograph increases as each edition sold. Every purchase brings the edition closer to completion, driving up the exclusivity and desirability of your investment.

A Collector’s Original changes an image into a nuanced masterwork.

  • Quality and Craftsmanship: Limited editions elevate your photos with the finest materials. Our German lab uses a cutting-edge metallic process, not printing, to create stunning 3D effects on premium Fuji Crystal Metallic Paper. This creates vibrant, color-safe images with exceptional depth and brilliance, that resist fading from sunlight and humidity, ensuring that your investment is not only beautiful but also durable.
  • Artistic Integrity: Owning a Limited Edition photograph grants you a piece of art personally approved, numbered, and certificate signed by the artist. This not only guarantees authenticity but also adds to the artistic value and collectability of the photograph.
  • Legacy and Prestige: Becoming a collector of Limited Edition photographs connects you with a community of art enthusiasts and collectors, enhancing your status and enriching your personal and professional spaces with exclusive art pieces.

Understand Value Increase

Buying a Limited Edition photograph means you’re investing in rarity.

Editions of no more than 15 photos per format (60x90 cm or 100x150 cm) worldwide. Certain iconic photographs are only available in micro-editions of 3-5.

The value per copy increases every time a collector buys a photo from the edition size and the series comes closer to selling-out.

Fine Art photography is a growing investment trend in the international art market. Once a series has sold-out, your Original photo can be resold at a greater price to collectors in the secondary market.
